Weekly Classes

At Cornerstone's Weekly Classes, students learn persuasive speaking techniques, how to build arguments, and refute them. Students will be engaging in speech presentations and practice debates while also participating in a variety of fun games and activities based on what they learn. Based on the experience level of each class, instructors will introduce different styles of competitive debate as well.

Classes are offered on a semester basis (Fall, Winter, & Spring) and new topics are taught each semester. See the registration forms below to view further details on the current semester's in-person and virtual offerings!

Cornerstone Academy

The Cornerstone Academy is our most recently launched initiative that provides high-level, private coaching to current high school debaters at a low and affordable cost. Our top instructors from each style of debate provide prep assistance, facilitate mock debates, and feedback/assistance in between tournament rounds. We also extend our services to small, under-developed debate programs. If you are interested in being a part of Cornerstone Academy, please reach out to cornerstonedebate@gmail.com

Flagship Summer Camp

Cornerstone's Flagship Summer Camp is a 1-week intensive that provides students with an opportunity to work collaboratively in different "labs" or groups based on age/experience level. In addition to fundamental speech and debate skills, lessons on the use of logic, research, and unique forms of argumentation are covered (all of which are tailored to each lab) in this in-person summer program. Students also end the week with a tournament, where they present arguments and deliberate on current event topics they have learned about throughout the week.

Cornerstone Summer Institute

The Cornerstone Summer Institute (CSI) is a virtual summer program that is open to all beginner and intermediate-level debaters in middle, high, and international schools. With students from across the country and around the globe, the CSI aims to facilitate dialogue among diverse perspectives. The CSI curriculum is also centered around preparing prospective and current debaters for competitive debate at national and international tournaments in World Schools, Public Forum, and Lincoln Douglas Debate.

Seminars/Workshops

Cornerstone Debate facilitates various seminars and workshops throughout each semester of classes and at each of the summer camps. Details for additional events that are held throughout the year for those who are not apart of our other programs.
